We received an enquiry at 2pm on Monday. The client needed:
a truck with a tail lift and ADR, loading as soon as possible in the Milan area - by 4pm at the most, as the company closes later. Wednesday morning delivery in the London area.
The client asked us to deal with export/import customs clearance, and was unsure whether any documents were needed due to transporting dangerous goods by ferry.
We proceeded immediately.
- Time needed to respond: 5 minutes
- Time needed for loading: 70 minutes
After the customer accepted the offer, the freight forwarder informed the customer that it was necessary to obtain a DGN document during loading. After 70 minutes, the driver arrived at the place indicated by the client. He loaded the goods onto the van, collected the documents and handed them over to the freight forwarder, who checked them. It turned out that the DGN document was incorrectly issued and we immediately asked for it to be corrected, indicating where the mistake was.
The document was corrected and the driver was able to set off. In the meantime, the forwarder took care of the export clearance. The van headed towards Calais, from where it had a ferry.
The transport went smoothly, the van arrived at the indicated location at 8:00 and the unloading was carried out.
